A very pretty "Herald" 6 transistor radio with original printed leather case dating from the mid 1960s. Made in Hong Kong the radio has an intact shiny black plastic case with gilt loudspeaker grill (a bit dented- see photos). The set works quite well- some whistles/birdies when tuning and a few volume control crackles, but not too bad for a radio nearly fifty years old. Tuning dial indication is novel in that rather than having a window you look into to read the frequency the frequencies are printed on the outside edge where it protrudes through the case and read against the large arrow moulded into the side of the case. Photos tell the story fairly well about condition- no trace of corrosion in battery well (and, surprisingly, a modern PP3 fits OK), all case plastics good, label in back clearly readable, pop out stand works, leather case in good condition. Haven't actually tried the earphone socket but should be OK. Radio measures about 84mm high by 52mm wide by 27mm deep (really is quite small for radios of this type). No box, earphone or instructions.
