Vintage Homer Laughlin Fiesta Ware French Casserole

This auction is for a original vintage yellow Homer Laughlin Fiesta Ware French Casserole. This rare piece was one of eight promotional items produced by Homer Laughlin from 1939 to 1942 that was part of the with the regular Fiesta line according to the COLLECTOR'S ENCYCLOPEDIA OF FIESTA Tenth Edition by Bob and Sharon Huxford (2006). Yellow was one of the original six colors produced. Mark Warman's Fiesta Ware Identification and Price Guide (2004) lists the measurements as 11 7/8 inches by 8 3/8 inches by 4 1/4 inches. On the bottom it is marked with the Homer Laughlin trademark "HLC" and "Fiesta Made In USA."

The condition for this piece is excellent. T are no chips or repairs. The top of the lid has what looks like a 1/4 inch scratch which I believe was factory made, and t is also a small spot of lighter color, which was also factory made. Inside the casserole bottom are some micro scratches/abrasions from usage or cleaning. The outside of the bottom of the casserole on the rim that it sits on has some small darker spots which I think are from the factory, but I don't know for sure. You can look inside an opening in the handle and it appears to be made of metal and then was fused to the body of the casserole and then painted when it was made. I'm just surmising about that.
