Vintage Japanese Chinese Hanging Scroll with Koi

RECENTLY ACQUIRED FROM THE ESTATE OF A WORLD-RENOWNED PHYSICIAN, THIS BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE HANGING SCROLL DEPICTS A KOI (CARP) CLIMBING A WATERFALL.
Symbolically, the Koi represents perseverance in adversity and strength of purpose. The Koi journeys upstream reaching the final waterfall and, leaping into the mists, becomes a water dragon.
Because of it's strength and determination to overcome obstacles, it also stands for courage and the ability to attain high goals, bringing fortune and good luck.
I love the personality of the Koi depicted on this piece, and am sorry to part with it. Due to space limitations, I'm unable to hang the scroll in the way it deserves. Please note that due to age, t is some fading on the upper portion of the scroll as well as some water-staining at the very bottom (see photos). This is no way interferes with the artwork itself and is common to older pieces such as this.
