VINTAGE JAPANESE SILK BATIK FORMAL KIMONO

This kimono is absolutely beautiful!

It is 100% silk and dates to the 1950's or earlier.

It is purple base colored with subtle jacquard geometric designing throughout.

The batik designs are in shades of gold and soft white.

The entire kimono is hand assembled and sewn as is the custom.

The kimono is 59" long and measures 26" from shoulder seam to shoulder seam.

The sleeve is 13" long and drapes 17".

It is in very good condition.

Just a lovely kimono. Unfortunately I buy them for fabric only, and this is far too nice for that. Thought you should know the jacquard fabric is called rinzu. And that terrific dot pattern of the design is a very labor intensive dyeing method called shibori. Those words in your headline might be helpful. Good luck on your auction .
