A vintage carved and painted "Mason Curlew" wooden shorebird created by noted Hudson, Massachusetts carver, Will Kirkpatrick. The shorebird, 13 1/2" long and 12 1/4" high, is done in the manner of the famous Mason, "King" of the factory decoys in its' day. Kirkpatrick's decoys sell to collectors all over the world and the Mason Curlew was one of his favorite sellers. I bought this from an estate that had a lovely collection of nautical items, and felt that I was lucky to get this one. The carving is stamped on the bottom with Kirkpatrick's initials, WEK, and the original display card is enclosed with it. It is in wonderful, original condition and ready to take its' place in a serious collection. (12) Photos have been provided for your viewing. Happy Hunting!!
