Vintage Large Football Helmet- 1969 Texas Longhorns National Champions

For your consideration is this custom Vintage TK Football Helmet from the late 1960s era. Nice large adult size helmet has genuine vintage leather jaw pads, and suspension padding showing good wear. Helmet is a true one of a kind item and came to us sporting decals of the 1969 Texas Longhorns, including the famous "100" burnt orange football decals celebrating 100 years of college football worn by many college teams across America in 1969. These decals are not like the ones you see on modern reproductions. They are thin-mil decals. Also, notice the laces on the football and the font of the numbers in the decal. You won't find that kind of detail in the newer made decals. Please note picture of James Street's helmet from the Cotton Bowl. The Longhorns wore their burnt orange "100" decals for only four regular season games that year- against California, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and of course Arkansas, where as the #1 team they defeated the #2 Razorbacks 15-14 in a game proclaimed "The Game of the Century". Texas again wore these decals as they defeated Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl, January 1, 1970. Vintage MacGregor 2-bar facemask is an icon in the football world, and shows slight attractive wear, and is in good condition for its age. Helmet shows some very light scuffing. To round out the package, we have applied #88 to the rear

PLEASE NOTE- all of our helmets are for display only and not to be worn in competition! Very rare and awesome display piece for any football fan! Don't miss this one.
