This Zia Pueblo pot was acquired from the estate collection of a New Mexico trading post entrepreneur (see other pottery pieces being sold concurrently on Ebay). This 7" high, 8 1/2" wide and 4 1/8" opening olla is hand coiled and traditionally painted on the outside with light reddish brown and cream colors and inside with a darker reddish brown color. A black acrylic paint was used to create the pottery design. The Zia bird is telltale in identifying the pueblo of origin even though this piece is not signed. Additionally the bottom is pencil marked "Zia" and "$495.00". The overall condition is excellent. T are a few small areas of glazing blems a number of which were originally painted over and a couple of cream colored sections with reddish hues but overall this very nice Zia pot has aged very gracefully. The other estate items date to the 1960's and I believe this piece is from the same timeframe. No reserve. Buyer to pay actual freight only. We are not set up to accept credit card payments.
