You are viewing a vintage Northwest Orient Airlines lighter, made by "Sharn". The manufacturer's name is engravedin script onthe bottom, along with the words "Special Quality" in print. On the front of the lighter is a round, raised enamel icon of the Northwest Fan-Jet tail. The first Northwest Airlines Fan-jets (Boeing 720's) were put into service in July, 1961. The lighter measures about 2-1/4" by 1-1/2" wide. It is in excellent shape cosmetically, and is even producing a spark when fliched -- it possibly needs a new wick and some butane, and I think it will be 100% functional. Add this vintage gem to your Northwest collection! This item is part of a large collection of aviation and Northwest Airlines memorabilia currently being listed and which will be listed in the future. It has been in the private collection of a former international stewardess. Item comes from a smoke-free environment.
