If you are interested in genuine vintage Native American handmade artwork, then we invite you to read the following: Vintage Navajo All Natural "Lighting Pattern" c. 1930 We are especially pleased to offer this beautiful Navajo rug circa 1920. We are continuing to help settle the affairs of an estate belonging to a collector of Native American art. Most of the collection was acquired during the 1960s and 70s. We have previously sold a large collection of Zuni fetishes by Edna Leki for the collector and are listing more of the collection this week. We do not have a lot of history prior to 1955 but, from information provided to us, we know it was purchased by a gentleman from Texas who eventually put it in a family vacation home at Angel Fire, New Mexico, in the 1950s-60s. The daughter of the man was an artist and kept this and six more rugs in use on floors until our collector, who was friend of the daughter, acquired them in the mid-1970s. We have a companion rug that is a Ganado that we have listed this week and several more we will be listing over the next few months. Unfortunately, we cannot provide the weaver's name, but we believe it may be an early Two Grey Hills, but we are uncertain.
