Vintage Oak Western Electric Crank Wall Phone USA (NR)

Antique Western Electric Crank Wall Phone

Up for bid is an antique Tiger Oak wood Western Electric crank wall phone. The phone measures 20 1/2" tall, 9 1/4" wide, 6" deep and 8 3/4" deep to extended shelf. The phone is marked Western Electric Made In U.S.A. on the front of phone as shown in picture 5. Label on interior, picture 6 reads "P-14506 317-AK Issue 1" at the top. The only tools required for all adjustments and wire connections is an ordinary screw-driver and a pair of pliers.

On the interior frame in picture 6 just on the left just below the top hinge "REC" is incised. Across the top border "317 AK" is insized. On the right side reading up from middle of the frame is incised (COND", "L2", "GND", and "L1". Picture 7 & 8 show what I believe is the magneto and is marked "Western Electric Made in U.S.A. and the number 48-1. When you crank the magneto the bell rings just like the old days. Set in the bottom near the top in picture 8 is the condensor and is marked that way. The inside parts, wires, screws etc. are all in excellent shape and everthing appears to be original. The insides of this phone are extremely clean and would not be surprised if it would work if it had an Evere ady Columbia Line Telep hone Battery which normally generated the power for operation of this phone .
