Vintage Recipe Book/Cures/Lye Soap/Pigs Feet/Soups/Head Cheese/Cakes/Jelly/More

Really interesting old recipe book! Titled "The Every-Day Cook-Book and Encyclopedia Of Practical Recipes" by Miss E. Neil, publishing date of 1892. This terrific book is very rough condition, but appears complete and packed full of recipes that are practical and almost unheard of today. A very few are listed in the title of this listing. There is also a section on the methods & etiquette of carving meat (the carver should sit on a chair higher than the other diners, but not stand). A section on common cures of ailments, stain removal and more. Recipes for fish. seafood, cakes, beef, mutton, how to make lard. Apparently they didn't waste anything, recipes for cooking heads, feet, livers and more. Also includes sections on how to care for your skin and "invalid cookery" and there are lots, lots more on all kinds of home care and personal subjects. Measures about 8 5/8" tall with 315 pages.

If you want to cook/bake the way it was done over a century ago this book is a tremendous resource.
