Up for auction is this retro cool 1960's Zenith Twilight tube clock radio, Model E514 in a so nice turquoise blue color. I believe this color is one of the hard to find colors along with pink. This item is coming from my stash of plain and simple cool retro stuff. I had this item for awhile placed on me retro desk. My décor likings are changing and this item needs to go to a new home to someone whom will appreciate this piece more than I have. I have never used this item, just displayed as retro decoration. It was a real conversational piece. This clock radio measures approximately 12 inches in length, 6 inches wide and 5 ½ inches tall. All functions on clock work fine from accurate time to alarm buzzer being nice a crisp. The radio portion of clock radio works however it is difficult to catch radio stations. T is static in searching, I believe the tubes of radio need to be changed. This is a real simple DYI. The chrome inserts in clock radios knobs are rusted and tarnished. Behind the clock radio one of the metal tabs holding the wood backing plate is missing. Not a bid deal, you can find these at any hardware store. This is the one and only big flaw on this clock radio. This may kill it to some people, on one side of clock radio t is a SSN number inscribed. If you would like to view a picture of this please email me, I will send you photos of this flaw. Sorry I do not want to post the SSN number or picture in my auction ad. The inscribed numbers are inscribed very nice, not sloppy. I can however tell you the person is deceased, I hope that helps. IMO, that one and only big flaw is not that big of a deal. I swear that if you're standing from a distance you will not notice it. The clock radio has so much color luster to it, that it is hardly noticed. If you're super anal, then you will notice it. I do not know what your intentions are for this clock, but if re-furbishing the entire clock radio to show room shine, this flaw can be fixed easily in the paint dept. Sand, putty and prime before base coat clear coat. If your intentions are using this clock just for decoration or used as a prop for photo shoots or something in that matter, this flaw is not a bid deal. Overall condition of this radio considering its age, it's very retro excellent. No cracks or chips in shell casing of clock radio, color has a brilliant luster. From a condition scale from 1-10, 9/10 meaning it were made yesterday with original box and not used, I would rate this clock radio a solid 7. If this radio did not have the inscribed SSN as well as the radio working up to par, I would rate this radio a solid 8, 9/10 would not cut it because no box and item is in used condition. Because of these flaws I have started my auction price at very low reasonable price. I know how much these clock radios go for in excellent condition, this starting price is very reasonable. Who knows you may score this piece at a sweet price! This clock radio is perfect and is a must have decorated item to add to your retro décor. Its just a plain and simple cool item to have!
