Vintage Rolled Gold Reading Glasses with the Original Case

Here on offer is a vintage pair of rolled gold reading glasses with their original case dating to the early 20 th century.

The frame of the glasses are completely covered in rolled gold. The hinges are held in place with metal screws and are in perfect order. The nose pads appear to be either mother of pearl or a pearlised plastic. The bridge is a little out of shape. The glass lenses are original and complete, no chips, cracks or scratches.

The case is original to the spectacles. It is metal that has a green textured leather cover applied to the exterior, the leather is a worn and shows the metal in places, there is a tear accross the hinge. The interior has a green velvet lining which is in reasonable condition.

The interior has a labels that has the information worn away, the inner lip of case has the name of the optician, it reads:

Harrimann's Dorking

and Guildford

The case measures about 13.5cm by 5cm, the glasses measure from hinge to hinge, 11cm, together they weigh 93g

The glasses are in good vintage condition for the age, while the case is a worn and shows age. A great collectable.
