Vintage Nodder Shakers figural rooster & chicken circa 1930 âe(tm)s Presented for your consideration is this very nice Nodder Salt & Pepper set with the figures of a Rooster and Chicken. I've never seen a set before, so I believe these are somewhat hard to find. I'm presenting as found, and any cleaning will be left for the new owner. This hand-painted porcelain set measures 3" long, 3-3/4" high, and 2" deep. This set is in very good condition; t are no chips or cracks, but t are about 3 tiny fleabites on the base of the hen cylinder. T is some paint wear on the front of the base, and a tiny spot of paint loss on back edge of the comb on the hen, and around the left eye of the rooster (or else the area around the eye was simply not painted during production). On one of the sides of the base the ridge is unglazed, and so it looks a bit dirty in the pictures, but is not bad. The inside of the set is very clean; even the inside of the cylindrical holders looks clean. Both corks are in good condition, and can easily be removed and replaced. The cork on the Rooster is a bit dry and beginning to crack a little. Gentle handling should keep the corks in shape. This set is marked only with "PATENT T.T." on the base, and "PAT. T.T." on the cylindrical shakers - no manufacturer marks. I've learned that these sets were made in the 30's/4
