VINTAGE S.F. Skinning Knife with Handmade Sheath

This San Francisco made knife with made-to-fit sheath are in excellent condition for the age of the items. They are OLD. The 6" blade (still very tight in the handle) has had years of use and is in very good shape! Possibly some of the curve for this skinner has been sharpened away. It's been well taken care of. The name engraved on it is: JOHN WULZEN, SAN FRANCISO. WARRANTED. A Unique piece of San Francisco knife making history!

From the internet: In 1862, the San Francisco Schuetzen Verein witnessed important changes. Captain Seidenstricker relinquished command of the company and enlisted in the Federal Army. John Wulzen , then Lieutenant, was chosen Captain and assumed command of the company, which he held for twenty-six years.

The 7 ¼" leather sheath is handmade with metal tip and top. The metal at the tip is stitched with metal wire! T is a riveted on leather strap so the knife can be worn on a belt.
