This is a 40's vintage Weaver 330 scope. This scope was a commercial item at the time, but many were pulled off the shelf and used by the US army during WW2 for use on the 1903A4 sniper's rifle. This one has the adjustment knobs with the screw slot, most of the army ones were the Pictures can tell you the most detail about this one - the tube has some finish loss, lenses are typically a little hazy as 90% of these old Weavers are, (but still clear enough to be used -) could use a good lens cleaning - but they are smooth and not all scratched up. Mechanism works fine. Rear lens has the beginning of "spiderweb" look around the edge, but the center is clear. Could use a professional cleaning or refurbishment. This one has the SINGLE POST reticule. A neat item, getting harder to find, and is the type of scope used by US snipers during WW2 - but I think if I were a sniper back then, and you handed me a fine rifle like the 1903A4 was, with THIS little rooty-poot low power 3/4" tube scope on it that looks like a toy, I might try and find another job!
