Description: This is a vintage wool Swiss Army double-breasted overcoat or great coat or trench coat. I got it in the early 1970's at a surplus store in Zurich. They told me it was from World War I. I suspect it is not that old, but I don't know for sure. It tapers from the shoulders to the waist and has all of its original buttons with the Swiss emblem. T are 18 buttons in all. T are 10 breast buttons, 2 shoulder buttons, 2 buttons for the rear vent and 4 buttons for the back strap. It is lined. It has a couple of problems which I have tried to show in the pictures. The seam at the back of the right shoulder is coming loose. The sleeve liner at the armpit of the right sleeve is worn through and the other is worn. T are also two small holes about the diameter of a pencil at the bottom which are t, but don't really detract from the overall appearance. T is also some wear on the sleeves and at the bottom. It think it is probably around a size 38 or so, but it measures 47 in length, 17.5 inches from shoulder seam to shoulder seam, 20 inches across the chest under the armpits. The sleeves are 19 inches from the armpit to the end and the cuffs are 6.5 inches. I'm not an "old clothes" expert. I'm just cleaning out my drawers and closets.
