Here we have a very nice vintage WWII Type Waltham, 17 jewel, manual wind, navigation, hack, high quality wrist watch complete with excellent military markings. The number on the back case of the watch would indicate that it is a 1956 vintage, possibly the Korean war era. The dial is unmarked. The movement is marked "WALTHAM, USA, 17 JEWELS, 6 / 0 - D,". There is also a serial No. but it is partially hidden so I can't make all of it out. The inside of the case back is marked "STAR WATCH CASE Co., Stainless Steel." The watch has a mechanical movement and the entire watch is completely original. Nothing has been changed or altered as far as I can tell. The watch has a stainless steel case and i t is approx. 30mm in dia. It has the original 12/24 hour black dial also with 60 minute markers in 5 minute intervals on the outside track. The numerals are arabic, white, and the numbers 1 to 12 are radium coated. All three hands are also radium coated however I don’t know if they still glow after all these years. The watch has a center sweep seconds hand with a particularly nice pointer arrow. The crystal appears to be acrylic. The case itself is particularly nice looking with a "coin edge" on both front bezel and rear cover. Many of these military watches are marked only with "Ord. Dept., USA". This watch has an excellent military notation
