Vintage WWII Era Taj Mahal Brocade Piano Shawl For your consideration is a superb WWII-era Taj Mahal brocade piano scarf or shawl on a stunning mint background. The buildings and arches are done in rich red and cobalt with yellow shading or accent tones. Beautiful swirls and flourishes with large blossoms surround the buildings, creating a fantastic visual appearance. An ornate medallion in a turquoise tone centers the piece; the turquoise runs down the entire center strip of the shawl. The back, shown in photos, is just as beautiful as the front . V ery elegant. Long, sumptuous hand-tied fringe on all sides in alternating mint and yellow. Whether tossed aback a chair or sofa or worn, these pieces are popular as they add a bit of mystique with their colors which glimmer in the light and their exotic motifs which are so in vogue in today's design trends. I've sold three of my other shawls like this recently and am on to my last one, sigh... Time to downsize. MEASUREMENTS: typical to genre; approx. 32" x 33" without fringe; fringe, on each end , measures approx. 8-9" on each yellow side and approx. 9-10" on each green side - so another 17" to 19" per side (total length and total width) .
