RARE Walt Disney 1940s FANTASIA Program WRITTEN IN JAPANESE Gyo Fujikawa

Here's a very interesting and possibly RARE1940s Walt Disney Productions FANTASIA bookletwith the interior pages written almost entirely in Japanese . This large 11-1/2" X 8-1/8" ORIGINAL 1940 booklet is titled in English on the cover "WALT DISNEY PRESENTS FANTASIA . As Japanese is read from right to left, this booklet's spine is on the right and the pages are turned left to right.

It is interesting to note that the when Fantasia was first released one web site mentions that: "Patrons were taken to their seats by staff hired and trained by Disney, and were given a program booklet illustrated by Gyo Fujikawa ." Gyo Fujikawa was born in Berkeley, California and both her parents were Japanese.

This booklet closely resembles the one printed in English for the 1940 release of Fantasia. The title "WALT DISNEY Presents FANTASIA" is identical.

But I DO NOT KNOW if Fantasia was released in Japan before the war, if a special booklet was printed for Japanese audiences in the US or if this was printed after the war ended in the late 1940's or 50's. I don't know if the wording and pictures inside mirror the English version.

The last two pictures below show the first two pages, which should have a date and other information on them if translated.

The booklet has 24 interior pages and is in good, average condition.

I hope that I've included enough pictures to give you a good idea of what you're bidding on.
