18th Century Collection WATERFORD CRYSTAL 6" VASE You are bidding on a gorgeous Waterford Crystal Vase from their 18th Century Collection. Measuring 6" tall, t his vase is in mint condition and in its original box with all paperwork. From the included card, this fascinating description: "In the world of the decorative arts, glassmaking was at a high point in the 18th Century, as the work emanating from Waterford in Ireland testified. Among its skill was intaglio, the special art of creating a convex design which can imprint a low relief image in was or other impressionable material. How fitting that the descendants of the first masters of crystal from Waterford would use this technique for the first series: 18th Century Collection ."It begins with 21st century works bearing the unmistakable impression of the Century and the arts from which Waterford Crystal developed. The pattern is inspired by the wife of Britain's 18th Century monarch, George III. Charlotte was known as the "Queen of Botany" for her life-long interest in plants and flowers; a passion commemorated by the lovely Queen's Cottage at Kew Gardens. Charlotte had that charming haven from court life built among her beloved flowers, after she inherited the land in 1772.
