Wedgwood Florentine Turquoise Square Cake Dish Mint

is a wonderful and rare collector's find: a beautiful Wedgwood double-handled square cake plate in the classic Florentine Turquoise pattern. This dish has the typical griffins, urns, ox or cattle skulls, and designs characteristic of the Florentine style, plus an elegant fruit and scroll centerpiece decoration. This piece is referred to as either a cake plate or a bread and butter plate. This serving piece is perhaps the most highly sought after Wedgwood accessory item.
Initially manufactured in 1931, it is still in production today. The bottom of the dish is marked with the Wedgwood logo and reads:
Bone China
and is handmarked in red ink with the number 50 and in blue ink with the number 11. Measures 9.5" x 11".
T are some gaps in the first black line around the center of the plate, but otherwise, I can find no flaws whatsoever. Excellent vintage condition and a wonderful find for the Wedgwood collector!
I cannot describe this piece's beauty adequately: I know you will love it the second you see and hold it. Breathtaking colors and detail.
This piece will provide years of ooh and aahs. A great collectible!
Package measures 12" x 12" x 8" and weighs four pounds, two ounces.
