A fine, small Wedgewood table lamp. It consists of a Queensware vase with grapevine decoration. The body is solid grey, the decoration is white. The metal fittings are brass.This is a factory production lamp part, as the interior hole through which the wiring passes is glazed, meaning the hole was made before firing. During a brief period in the late 1940s and early 50s, Wedgwood produced vases and urns like this to be mounted as lamps.It's 11.75" tall, overall and 4" in diameter at the foot. The Wedgwood part is 6.75" tall, 3.75" in diameter at the top and 2.875" at the bottom.Condition: the Wedgwood part is fine, no wear or damage. The brass parts have age-related patina, but are otherwise fine. The lamp has been rewired.Marked: impressed and printed Wedgwood marks to underside of foot.
