Up for auction is this most impressive Weems & Plath Barometer/Thermometer in a brass case and mounted on what I believe to be hardwood. The hinged bezel case is constructed of solid, forged brass with a coat of lacquer to ensure a lasting shine. The brass case to me looks like a port hole and the face measures approximately 4 1/2" in diameter, 3 1/2" in depth and the part that is attached to the back of the wood casing is 5 1/2" in diameter. The wood it is mounted on is 10" wide, 5 1/2" deep and is 8" tall. T are no scratches, nicks or other disfiguring marks. It looks like new.

I believe this barometer movement has the standard calibration for 3,500 ft. It is fully adjustable with inch and millibar scales. The thermometer has both F and C scales with markings every 2 degrees from 32 degrees to 122 degrees. It features a reliable temperature compensated aneroid movement.

The Martinique model is one of the most popular models in the Weems & Plath collection. This is your opportunity to own this handsome nautical barometer at a fraction of the original cost. The list price for this model is $300.00 plus. This is from estate and is believed to be less than two years old and it looks untouched.
