Weller Blue Ware Maiden Playing Harp Vase

Lovely Weller Pottery blue ware vase featuring an applied figure on the front of a maiden playing a harp-like instrument. The neck of this ovoid shaped vase is wreathed by tiny pink flowers and leaves, and there are also sprays near the base. The vase is 8.5" high and 3.5" in diameter at the widest point. It is marked Weller on the bottom.

Blue ware was introduced by Weller circa 1920. The background of the pieces is blue glazed with a flat-colored matte blue, and the pieces are usually decorated with maidens and flower garlands.

Condition of this vase is good with the characteristic crazing as seen readily on the base. There is one spot along the bottom rim where the blue glaze wasn't completely applied. The picture shows this and is part of the description.
