Welcome to Barb's Memory Lane All of the items in this store come from the home of Earl and Barbara Dodge. Earl died unexpectedly last fall and Barb has decided to downsize by selling some of their collectible items. Earl collected political memorabilia and you will find many items old and more recent related to various candidates. In our ebay store we are listing several hundred rare books that were also part of Earl's library. We combine shipping so email if you need a quote. If you purchase more than one item, please wait for our invoice before you pay to ensure you get your shipping discount. Item: Vintage Wendell Willkie Ellwood postcard Measurements: 3.5 x 5.25 inches Condition, flaws: no flaws - in clean and unmarred condition, light edgewear Back side has Willkie's name and birthdate and place for one cent stamp. Front has following text: Elwood's Favorite Son - The Hope of Our Country Wendell Willkie Souvinier of Willkie and Elwood's School's (sic) I find this postcard comical because it touts Willkie and the schools in his hometown, yet the word souvenir is misspelled and the word "school's" should not have an appostrophe. Oh well . . . maybe that makes this card even more valuable. The free listing tool. List your items fast and easy and manage your active items.
