Wichita, KS- V.F. Ferguson $1 ND (1905-06) Whitfield 2e This note falls into an unusual genre of scrip termed "Not Intended to be Used as Money" with that accounting spelled out on the back, pursuant to contemporary federal laws. Hugely margined and perfectly centered, printed on bond paper using red ink on both sides. Much scarcer than most believed, as we have only auctioned two. "Merchandise Duebill. On demand the undersigned will deliver on the order of the possessor of this duebill ONE DOLLARS worth of goods which it represents" is displayed on the face. This Union Pacific Tea Company merchant is listed on page 202 of Kansas Paper Money 1854-1935 by Steve Whitfield. It is listed as a R7 note with only two to five known. PCGS Very Fine 35. Grade: 350, Service: PCGS, Service No.: 7516000
