WW1 LEE ENFIELD RIFLE, PISTOL & MACHINE GUN MANUAL 1914 MUSKETRY REGULATIONS PART I 1909 (REPRINTED 1914) GENERAL STAFF, WAR OFFICE H.M.S.O 1914 printed by HARRISON AND SONS, LONDON. This is an excellent example of the British Army musketry handbook from 1914. Well illustrated with diagrams, photographs, technical drawings and some great fold-outs of the Lee Enfield, it covers the standard issue small arms and weapons of the British Army at the time: the various models of the Lee Enfield rifle, the Webley pistol, the hand grenade and the Maxim/Vickers Machine Gun. With extensive information on each model, including training, maintenance, ammunition, range practice, use on the battlefield and much more. There is even a section on 'Fire in Two Ranks (for use in savage warfare)', which advocates pretty much exactly the same technique as used at Rorke's Drift and elsewhere during the Zulu war of 1879. 320 pages, illustrated with diagrams and drawings. Condition: In very good condition. The boards are in very good condition, with just light signs of age and wear. The binding and hinges are good and secure. The text is very good and there is no foxing The illustrations are in very good condition. There is a small signature, 'W. Hirst', on the first contents page.
