This item up for auction is a very rare and unique item. Its a WW1 Military Ambulance Head Light. This item is all original and authentic. Made in the USA, Philadelphia Pa. by the Rose Manf. Co. This was the very early Kerosine Type Light used on the Ambulances which would show white on front, Rad to the rear and green to the side. The light was by wick on the inside and a Reflector on the rear projecting the light forward. As the wick was lit the light would show through the jewels on the rear and changing the color of the light. This is a very impressive early collectable for sure. It was called the Autocut. Stamped and all original this is a very unique piece. The bottom of the unit held the fuel and it has an adjustable wick to brighten the light or dim it. The top was the vent for the fumes and smoke. Its labeled on the rear as Prevents Accidents! The lamp has no fuel in it of course. The tank has been empty for many years but this is a very clean and working unit. The lamp is still in working condition . The wick moves freely, the jeweles are all in place and even the clamp works well . Just a very neat WW2 vintage Medical item which was clamped onto the rails of the ambulance to light the way. The lense opens freely exposing the wick. The clamp that holds the lense closed is also in very good condition. This is a very neat
