You are bidding on a really nice m1905 16" US Bayonet. It is a super early one(look at the serial number) and dated 1906. It is in credible shape(please see the pictures) and managed to survive over 100 years without getting messed with. Originally made for the 03' Springfield, it was later reissued with the 03A3 and Garand at the start of WW2, and most were cut down in 1943 to 10 inches. This one survived that, and retains its original wooden grips as well as remained mostly unsharpened(please see detail, it appears to have a very faint polish or sharpen mark, but it appears as if it was just to put an edge on the weapon, it is not heavy at all and ground away like most) It has a razor sharp edge, posiibly from this original and careful grind which is barely noticeable and definitely does not detract. T is very light pitting on the fornt of one side at the very tip(please see macro detail) which also does not detract and as the weapon is 100 years old, it is surpising the wear is so light. It retains very clear stamps of the serial number and ordinance bomb. The WW2 scabbard, which is of course correct for all the re-issued bayonets, is in absolutely mint, nearly unissued condition, and is the icing on the cake for this collection showpiece.
