we have a very nice WW2 era German made Air Force Officer Sword. Sword is in the Italian style but is made by WKC in Solingen with German pattern etchings up both sides of the blade. Not sure exactly what country this sword was made for, but it's a gorgeous piece nontheless.Sword has a gorgeous gilt brass hilt in the Italian style of a featd guard and eagle head pommel. Grip is black composite with triple twisted brass wire wrap. Hilt is in wonderful condition with just about all of it's gilding remaining and still shining. No damage at all ... just about mint. Entire hilt is tight as can be. Folding side of guard still functions smoothly. Blade is 31 1/2" long, 3/4" wide, and 1/8" thick at base of blade. Blade is straight, diamond shaped, and single-fullered. Plated with very minimal plating wear. Blade has beautiful etching for 14" up each side, tough to photograph and the photos listed don't do justice. Etching is German in style with military motif (cannon, cuirass, swords, flags, etc) amidst intricate florals. Maker's marked with the WKC knight's head and WKC SOLINGEN GERMANY.Sorry, no scabbard ...Feel free to e-mail with any questions or with requests for more pictures ... I'd be more than happy to send more via email.Sword is 100% Authentic and NOT a reproduction.I WILL BE LISTING MORE SWORDS, ARMOR, and ANTIQUE MORTARS OVER
