An extremely rare original WW2 WWll Imperial Japanese Army / Navy Paratrooper's Jump Suit dating to Showa 17 - 1942.This is the first one we have handled in over four years of collecting / selling. This suit was worn over an overall suit with a type 4 parachute harness over it. Construction is of green cotton with anodized steel snap buttons. The shoulder area has a sewn in 5mm thick brown felt section. The arm and leg holes are elasticated. T are two pockets on the thigh area with a flap covering the zip. The snap buttons down the front and sides allow the whole jump suit to be removed quickly (see detail photo). T is a stamp and manufacturer's mark on the inside left breast section with the date Showa 17 (1942). T are also small marks and the number 17 on the back of the collar strap and on the shoulder section. A similar example can be seen on page 135 of Tadao Nakata's "Imperal Japanese Army and Navy Uniforms and Equipment". Overall condition is very good as it appears that this was issued but not used. T is a light stain on the right side of the suit, about halfway down. Dimensions: Height 46" (from top of collar to bottom of leg section) x 36" chest (armpit to armpit).
