This auction is for a large WWII military grouping of patches, medals, and documentation including Bronze Star from a single soldier. This was acquired this week at our shop from an 85 year old widow of the Missouri soldier who was wounded in combat and took German troops lives during his long tour of action. T were several German war trophy items acquired from troops slain by the soldier that are not offered as part of this sale due to ebay regulations. This is an authentic lot with great provenance. Includes period newspaper articles cut from local papers documenting the exploits of Herman J. Weber who was wounded in Germany on Oct 24. Weber entered the service in Dec 17th, 1942 and landed in England in May of 1942. In June he was sent to France , then to Belgium , Holland and finally into Germany . Included is the newspaper articled which sites him receiving the Bronze Star by his commanding general for "meritous achievement in action." Weber was a demolition specialist in an engineering outfit with the 29th Infantry "working under heavy artillery fire removing mines in clearing a path for the infantry to advance in the vicinity of Brest , France on Sep. 12th.
