Recently, I had the good fortune to obtain a nice, original and vintage knife and military bayonet collection from a local lady who responded to my ad in the paper wanting to buy militaria. She told me that her late husband collected edged weapon material back in the 70s and 80s, and she wished to sell these particular items. I've included an overall photo of most of the bayonets, sword-bayonets and swords to give you an idea of what all I obtained--very reasonably I must say, so I am able to start most everything out at a reasonable starting price. Perhaps half have an ID tag attached, but not all, and I see some have had their paper tag missing, so the ID will be my educated guess.Here we have a really nice WWI German Prussian Model 1915 Sawback Ersatz Bayonet in what I would say is very Good Condition with a fabulous blade in very Fine Condition and matching Scabbard in Good Condition. The Bavarian proof mark is on the spine. The 14 1/4" long Blade has not been sharpened and retains a very sharp point. The condition of the saw teeth is excellent, very sharp and will prick the finger if drawn across them the wrong way. Scabbard has one dent on both sides and shows black paint loss, worn to gray in places--and has a blunted tip, no doubt from period field service, see photos.
