WWII Bomber Jacket B-29 Pilot U.S. Army Air Force B-15

You are bidding on an authentic World War II bomber jacket (NOMEX) that was my father's flight jacket. He flew B-17's and B-29's over Tokyo and Tinian Island in the war. This jacket is in excellent condition considering the age. The inside looks almost new with no holes or wear. The outside has the normal wear and the cuffs are a bit worn. It also looks as though t is paint spattered on areas as shown on the right side. This jacket has been stored properly for nearly 70 years, free of mildew and humidity and in a smoke-free home. T are no odors on it. The zipper works perfectly and has a leather tab on the end. The fur collar is in excellent condition.

It is a size 36. It still has his original leather name tag on the front "S. J. Trotter". Hew flew in the 9th Bomb Group, Crew 56B (photo shown; he is on the back row, standing, 2nd from the left. His aircraft was U.S. Army Model B-29- 31-BA Serial # 42-63556.

The left sleeve of the jacket has the Army Air Insignia on it. I have shown a photo of him with his jacket on in an aircraft during initial flight training.
