This is a World War II U.S. Army Medical Department First Aid kit. I believe this was used in military vehicles such as the Ford, Willys, MB/GPW/Jeep, Tanks, and others. The metal box is in good to ok condition for its age, the origanal paint has minor chips on spots around the edges and has scratches/scuffs/slight nicks along it. The bottem corner of the box has some surface rust/corrosion probaly from somthing being spilled in the box (which has also caused a discoloration of the instruction label on the back of lid. Nothing serious no dents. The lids water tight rubber seal is securaly in place with only very very light deteroartion in one small area. All the hinges, latches, and handle work smoothly. This was my Grandpa's who got caught up in WWII and fought in the Korean War. Some of contents in the box are origianal WWII medical items to the kit, while others have been added later, yet are still old (50s or 60s). Origanal (unused complete) items include eye dressings box, Triangular Bandage/Arm sling box, Ammonia Inhalant Armoatic box, 4" x 4" Bandage compress package, and I think a eye dropper. The rest of the items I think have been added which inclued German made medical tape (Blankoplast), medical scissors and case, Vaseline Petrolaium guaze, First aid cream antiseptic, Band Aid brand Sheer strips box with several bandaids, read more
