Very good condition and guaranteed original WWII German 98k Mauser bayonet that has the rare "44sgx" code on the left side of the blade for production by E. & F. Horster in 1944. Blade has nice original gray phosphate metal finish with some brown. Never sharpened, edge has a few dings. Remaining metal finish is original gray phosphate showing some normal wear. Bakelite grips are the scarce riveted type and have a good tight fit, no damage. Lock button functions fine. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that also has the "44sgx" code. Scabbard and blade numbers do not match, but both have the same "ii" suffix. Scabbard has original gray phosphate metal finish showing some normal wear and a few dings, no dents. Rare "sgx" code 98k bayonet with riveted grips that will make an excellent addition to your collection.
