WOW--incredible find from one of this weekend's Seattle area estate sales. This rare Navy issued purse comes from the collection of uniforms, documents, insignia, and ephimera from the 13 year Navy career of Navy Lt Chalotte Pauline Nevers Kershner. It's in excellent, used condition with the only defect being on the attachment point for one of the straps 9see pic). The Naval Clothing Factory tag inside the purse is even still intact (see pic). We are also including a photo of Polly herself and one of her cardboard desk nametags. Polly, as she was known, joined the Navy WAVES on 7 Oct,1943 and after a brief period as an enlisted woman, was commissioned on 22 Aug, 1944 and served until June of 1958. Her career progressed from enlisted person, to Admin Officer, to Naval Intelligence and follow her career from when she joined as a collge graduate from Massachussetts to tours in such places as the office of Chief of Naval Operations in Washington D.C. and Seattle, Wash. See our other auctions for the balance of her collection. As always, we want to remind bidders we are not a store. We will consider a return for a good reason, but we absolutely DO NOT REFUND Ebay charges or postage for any reason, even if you think our description is poor, so please bid with that in mind and ask lots of question. Thanks! Sorry, but too many people try
