WWII / WW2 German Cavalry Saddle Armeesattel 25 d. 1936

Battle-worn, WW2 / WWII German Army "project" saddle that needs some work to finish. Model 25 (Armeesattel 25), size 4, dated 1935, manufacturer stamped "R. Larsen, Berlin S.W. 45." Complete with issue stirrup leathers and Waffenamt proofed stirrups (dated 1936) . This saddle saw some hard use, but it is one of the most complete, original setups I came across so I bought it to restore. The tree was broken in the back (the steel reinforcing plates between the rear bars and cantle had snapped), so I had a German saddler repair and test it with no issues. I also had him re-string one side of the rawhide seat strip on the tree (see pictures of all the repairs). The seat itself has some cracking and tears on the pommel flaps and a scar across the main seat surface. The skirts are in beautiful condition. The upolstered panels are also in good condition - with the exception of the pockets at the front of each panel - these are cracked and have torn free in places. The stirrup leathers are complete and have the correct rawhide lacing, but are suitable for display use only. The stirrups themselves are FANTASTIC - a bit rusted, but that should clean up easily. They are dated 1936, have the Waffenamt stamp and one still has the leather tread cover buckled to it . They are also stamped with the manufacturer's mark - a "WR" in a circle. I
