A history of furniture: With chapters on tapestry, oriental embroidery and leather work

THIS volume is the last work of an accomplished and scientific author, the matured fruits of long study and continuous observation. His son, anxious for his father's fame, has given additional value to the text by the brilliant illustrations with which he has adorned it. M. Jacquemart was born in 1808, and died on the 1/j.th October, 18/5. A Parisian by birth, he witnessed the reward and development of the taste for art which has become the feature of the present generation.
