A treatise on embroidery;: with twenty color illustrations from original models

In presenting series No. 8 Treatise on Embroidery, it has beenaim to give as much variety as possible in the limited space allotted. The pageson stitchery will be found most complete, many additions being made to themost popular stitches shown in our last book, and all so clearly pictured, butlittle explanation accompanies the illustrations. In the twenty color plates, the best possible results have been secured, perfectionis rarely attained. It is impossible to give natural coloring in anyparticular flower, only general tone, and the "subtle gradations so difficult inpainting, cannot be expressed in photographic proofs from hand embroidery.
