Schroeder's Antiques Price Guide Revised 3rd Edition

The upswing reported by antiques experts during the spring of 1983 is now being termed a national revival. Even in the most severely depressed areas of the country, auction gallery sales are up a strong 25%. This turnaround was effected by the same general economic factors that sent Wall Street rebounding, and the predictions for the coming months strongly suggest continued improvement. Money is flowing more freely and those with the capital to permit long term investing are returning from the certainty of the 16% interest-yielding money market to antiques. This is evidenced by increased activity in the sale of coins, rare stamps, jewelry, and silver, where recently finer examples have been consistently fetching prices well over their appraisals.
