Book of Country Furniture, Baskets, Stoneware and More

When we first began collecting country antiques in the mid-1960's, the biggest difficulty we encountered was identifying the pieces we found. At that point, there was not a national mania for American antiques that surfaced in a multitude of magazines and books. There were articles on Pilgrim century furniture and books filled with pictures taken of museum quality room settings. This did not assist us in our quest because the shops we visited did not carry seventeenth and eighteenth century furniture.
