Very Rare Glassware of the Depression Years

The history of a piece of glass is hard to trace since it tells no tales as to where it's been between the manufacturing process and present ownership. Too, since there's a "profit" made from sale to sale, sellers are sometimes reluctant to divulge information regarding where, or from whom, they purchased the piece; or they simply don't know that information. When asked, they'll say "I bought it, or sold it to, some guy in a red jacket." Thus, it's rather unusual to know much "history" of a piece of glass. The wonderfully rare Mayfair shaker shown on the cover is an exception, however, and I thought you might be as intrigued as I by its colorful story in as far as I was able to trace it.
