Collecting Baseball Player Autographs

In the 1940's and 1950's autograph collectors could stand outside the 16 major league parks, haunt hotel lobbies and elevators, or write to their favorite players. The signatures were often hastily scribbled on programs or slips of paper, rubber stamped, or ghost written by wives, sisters, or clubhouse attendants, but they were free.
