When I look at granite ware today, my thoughts automatically go back to Grandmother's day; how she must have felt a sense of joy when she purchased her first piece of brilliantly-colored granite ware after cleaning her cast iron ware. It had to be a dream come true because a "new era" had begun with the appearance of this bright utilitarian ware called "Granite Ware." It was only the beginning of what was to come! Not only could she add beautiful colors to her drab kitchen , but her everyday chores would be made so much easier. "Granite Ware Ads" of the day stated it all: "It Cleans Like Glass."
