The A.E. Hull Pottery Company was formed in July of 1905 in Crooksville, Ohio. Due to the natural clay deposits in the region as a ready source of raw materials, Ohio has boasted many pottery companies over the last century. Some of the potteries that operated in this region are well known among collectors. The McCoy Pottery Company, to name one, operated in Roseville, Ohio until a fire destroyed the factory in 1991.
