As with many things in life, the introduction to PYREX came about in an unexpected way. A friend of Sue's, Alice Kiemle Rothberg, aware of her devotion to scouring flea markets and garage sales, asked her to look for a particular colored nesting bowl. Sue found the bowl and realized that there was an unusual interest in PYREX kitchenware. Her curiosity, intrigued about the popularity of PYREX, prompted her to contact Corning Incorporated. Sue realized that there was no domestic publication that exclusively focused on PYREX. With this discovery, the idea of this book was motivated.
