Collector’s Guide to Candy Containers, Identification & Values

It wasn't until the last quarter of the nineteenth century that glass containers were made in the shapes of toys and filled with multicolored candy, their design and appearance calculated to attract youngsters and adults alike. This novel idea found favor with the public, and the number of new glass candy container toys produced grew steadily each year for nearly half a century. The toys had broad appeal because their hundreds of different shapes mirrored a wide range of interests, events, and technologies of the times.
