This book originally began as a book exclusively on David Davidson hand-colored photographs. Having already written or published more than 10 works on Wallace Nutting , the next logical publishing step seemed to be another book on Wallace Nutting-like pictures. I have been focusing upon hand-colored photography for more than 20 years and a book on David Davidson , a photographer who sold more hand-colored pictures than all other early twentieth century photographers except Wallace Nutting, seemed to make sense.
